Many families plan months in advance for their vacation. They spend a good deal of time finding the perfect vacation home, looking for cheap ski tickets, and making sure everything is packed. Then once they get to their destination (Breckenridge, CO) they just randomly choose places to eat without investing any time in what’s good and what’s not. Which could be a really fun experience or it could be a disaster. This guide is intended to keep it from being the latter.

DOWNSTAIRS AT ERIC’SDownstairs at Eric’s is probably one of the biggest family favorites here in Breckenridge. Their prices are reasonable and their food is pretty good as well. You’ll find a wide selection of burgers but pizzas are their specialty. And with the “Gigantor” pizza no one will be going home with an empty stomach. They also have 120 different beers to choose from as well (for the parents). There’s also a video arcade to keep the kids occupied while you’re waiting for the food.FATTY’S PIZZERIAJust off of Main Street, Fatty’s can sometimes be overlooked when it comes to great places to eat. Like Eric’s, they offer pizza and burgers. Both of which are always a hit with the family, especially the kids. Depending upon the age range of your kids you might find the dining on the left side of the restaurant more appealing. Seeing as it is a little bit quieter and there aren’t big screen TV’s. However, if you’re an “older” family then you probably will want to sit on the right side where all the big screen plasma TV’s are with ESPN on. Make sure you call ahead for wait times because the restaurant fills up quickly arounddinnertime.CLINT’S BAKERYFor breakfast, lunch, or dessert, Clint’s is a really good place to eat. Their bagels are phenomenal and their coffees pretty good as well. You’ll have multiple bagel sandwiches to choose from for breakfast and plenty of deli sandwiches to choose from for lunch. Also, as their name states, they’re a bakery and therefore you’ll find a wide range of desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth as well. You can even order a whole cake to take home for the family. But all in all, Clint’s is a must for at least one or two meals during your stay.DAYLIGHT DONUT’SThis is an absolute must for breakfast during any length of stay in Breckenridge. And while you could eat lunch here, they close at noon so it would need to be an early lunch and you won’t find any “lunch” entrees just breakfast. Which won’t be a problem once you try their donuts. You’ll want them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Make sure you bring cash though cause they don’t take credit cards, debit cards, or checks. Lastly, don’t be scared off by the long line. It’s always there but it’s worth the couple minute wait.

Don’t worry this isn’t by any means an exhaustive list. There are plenty more restaurants to choose from in Breckenridge, Colorado. This is just a short list of some of the main family friendly establishments that have good food and won’t break your wallet. So next time your in Breckenridge make sure that you give 1,2,3 or all 4 of these restaurants a try. Just make sure you bring an appetite.
